How long have you been doing makeup professionally? How did you get started?
Makeup by Jenni began in 2009 but my training and love for makeup started many years before that.
As a child I was obsessed with magazines and pored over the makeup looks. As soon as I was allowed to wear makeup I experimented every day and whilst I was at college I decided to do a part-time makeup course too.
Years passed and it was only after having my daughter that I decided to progress my training and set up my own business. Initially, the business was part time but it soon turned into a full time exciting whirlwind of brides and commercial work.
What do you love most about doing makeup?
I love the transformation and the wonderful feeling of helping a woman to feel beautiful.
Seeing the bride completely ready to marry is such a lovely feeling and never gets old.
What sets you apart from other makeup artists?
I spend a lot of time getting to know my bridal clients wants and needs before achieving the perfect look.
I book one wedding per day only and on the day of the wedding I stay until the bride departs to help with dressing and last minute touch ups.
Any top tips brides should consider, with their bridal make up?
Choose a look that reflects you and your personality. Be open with your makeup artist on your makeup trial and talk about what you like and don’t like.
What kinds of makeup do you use?
I use a selection of premium and professional products including CHANEL, Bobbi Brown, Dior, MAC, NARS, Urban Decay and more.
Do you apply false lashes?
I hold a large selection of lashes. Lashes and application are included in your package.
What do you think are the new up and coming trends for bridal make up?
I’m still feeling hints of boho but classic romantic bridal looks reign supreme.
What is the best way for a bride to book you?
Brides can contact me via email or phone and are able to book up to 2 years in advance to ensure availability.
